Sergeant Pilot John Sheehan - 1944John Edwin Stewart Sheehan was born on the 11th March 1920. He is listed as being born in Hobart, but says it was Launceston really. John died on the evening of the 7th November 2007 at Lady Davidson Hospital after a months illness in RPA and Lady Davidson.

John was a graphic designer and commercial artist from an early age - his most notable accounts included Roche, Rural Bank of NSW, Victa, Tip Top Breads, PAL dogfood and many others. John was also a long time and very active member of Middle Harbour and Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Clubs. In 1962 / ‘63 he lead, with Horrie Godden, the purchase and relocation of MHYC to its current premises from what is now the Volunteer Coastal Patrol building.

John was a sergeant/WO II pilot in the RAAF during WWII serving in 12 Sqn (Vultee Vengeances) out of Bachelor in the Northern Territory before joining Test and Ferry Flight operating out of Bankstown.

Lynne Sheehan 1944Mary Therese Fairweather, Lynne Sheehan, was born on the 31st August 1920 in Bondi, and passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of the 11th June 1999. Mary, known as Molly in the Fairweather family, was given the nickname “Lynne” by a fiancee during WWII. Lynne worked as an executive secretary for Bill Northam, CEO of Johnson and Johnson, prior to WWII. Lynne joined the WRAAAF and served as a receptionist. In 1971, when us kids had all left home, Lynne went back to work as the Purchasing Manager at Avon in Frenchs Forest, where she stayed until 1983 when she retired for good.

Lynne had a heart attack soon after retiring but recovered fully over a 6 month period, and went on to do charity work in the Mona Vale and Dee Why areas up until the day she died in 1999.

Both are missed deeply
